Ordering, delivery and returns
How long does delivery take?
Your rug is made by hand after your order and delivered free in Belgium within 2 to 4 weeks. You can also collect it from our store in Knokke.
What does a Monroe rug cost?
A Mini patchwork rug (110 x 70 cm) starts at €99. White and off-white cost €525 in 130 x 190 cm up to €1,500 in 230 x 290 cm; Melange runs from €600 to €1,850 and Coloured (camel or olive) from €650 to €1,700. For a rug from 300 cm, a round shape or a cut-out you receive a personal quote via our made-to-measure page.
Can I return the rug?
Yes. On every rug you order directly from the webshop you have a statutory fourteen-day right of withdrawal from delivery, without giving a reason and without us asking for photos. Tell us at info@monroe.life or on WhatsApp with your order number, then send the rug back within fourteen days of that notice or bring it to our store in Knokke-Heist.
The direct cost of return shipping is yours; bringing it to the store is free. We refund within fourteen days of receiving the rug, using the same payment method as your order.
Rugs from 300 cm, round rugs and unusual shapes are made individually on request to your own specifications and therefore fall outside the right of withdrawal. Unsure about size or colour? Ask for a free trial image through the Vachtstudio before you order, or come and feel the sizes in Knokke. All details are in our return policy.
Can I collect my order?
Yes. Choose collection at checkout; you pick your rug up in our flagship store, Dumortierlaan 115, 8300 Knokke-Heist (open Thursday to Monday).
What are the opening hours of the store in Knokke?
Thursday to Monday: 10–13 and 14–18; Saturday and Sunday 10–13 and 13.30–18.30. Closed Tuesday and Wednesday. Our office and warehouse in Brecht (Vaartkant Rechts 6G) can be visited by appointment.
Can I see the rug in my own room first?
Yes. Send one photo of your room via WhatsApp (+32 474 73 66 33) or Instagram and you receive a free trial image within 2 working days. Four images cost €50, fully refunded as a voucher when you buy.
About our rugs
What is a Monroe patchwork rug made of?
Ecologically tanned Icelandic sheepskins, hand-sewn together with gold thread. You recognise a genuine Monroe by that gold thread on the back.
Which sizes are available?
Directly available: 130 x 190, 165 x 225, 205 x 205 and 230 x 290 cm, plus the 110 x 70 cm Mini. Rugs from 300 cm, round rugs and unusual shapes are made individually on request via our made-to-measure page.
Do you make rugs to measure?
Yes. From 300 cm we make your rug individually on request — round, square, elongated or with a cut-out — to the dimensions and finish you specify. Send your request through our made-to-measure page and you receive a personal quote first. Because such a rug is made specially to your specifications, it is not covered by the statutory right of withdrawal.
Is every rug unique?
Yes. The pelts are natural and all different; you choose the colourway and always receive a new, unique piece in those tones. Slight differences in shade, structure and hair length belong to a natural product and are not a defect.
Does a sheepskin rug shed?
No. Unlike woven wool, the wool stays naturally anchored in the hide, so a Monroe does not shed.
How do I care for a sheepskin rug?
Regular vacuuming is enough. Dab stains immediately with a damp cloth; for a stubborn stain, trim a small tuft of hair — thanks to the fine structure this is hardly noticeable.
Where are the rugs made?
Monroe Life is a Belgian brand from Knokke. Every rug is hand-sewn in our European atelier by experienced fur seamstresses, recognisable by the gold thread on the back. Our office and warehouse are in Brecht.
